1300 Kilos Cocaine Bust Dutch Caribbean
Navy ship Holland intercepts another large shipment of drugs
KRALENDIJK – The Dutch naval vessel Zr.Ms. Holland intercepted a go fast with more than 1300 kilos of drugs near Bonaire on September 12. Five suspects were arrested.
The Caribbean Coastguard discovered the go-fast and immediately called in the help of Zr.Ms. Holland. With the fast interceptor boat FRISC they managed to force the smugglers to stop after warning signals and shots.

During the chase, the suspects threw their cargo overboard, but the crew of the Holland retrieved all the packages from the water. In total, it concerns 1231 kilos of cocaine and 132 kilos of marijuana.
The five suspects, four Venezuelans and a Colombian, were handed over to the Coast Guard and then to the Caribbean Netherlands Police Force on Bonaire. The drugs have since been destroyed.
It is the second major catch in a week for Zr.Ms. Holland. The naval vessel works with the American and Caribbean Coast Guard on anti-drug operations.
