KPSM Reinforces Parking Regulations in Philipsburg for Public Safety

The Sint Maarten Police Force (KPSM) wishes to address the ongoing parking issues in the Philipsburg area. Over the past few weeks, numerous drivers have been observed parking in no-parking zones, including bus stops, creating unnecessary hazards and inconveniences for other road users and pedestrians.

Despite repeated warnings and fines issued, some individuals continue to ignore the designated parking areas, opting instead to park illegally. In response, KPSM has issued fines to multiple offenders. However, the persistent disregard for parking regulations remains a concern.

Drivers have offered various excuses, including claims that designated parking spots are either full or too far from their destination. The Police Force reminds the public that these justifications do not excuse illegal parking, as such behavior compromises the safety of pedestrians and other motorists.

KPSM once again urges all drivers to adhere to traffic laws and park only in designated areas. Ensuring public safety is a shared responsibility, and compliance with these regulations is essential for maintaining order and preventing accidents.

The police will continue to enforce traffic rules rigorously. Drivers found in violation of parking laws will face fines without exception. KPSM thanks the public for their cooperation and encourages everyone to contribute to safer streets in Philipsburg.
