Police Intensify Search for Suspect After Failed Arrest in Philipsburg
The Sint Maarten Police Force (KPSM) is actively searching for a suspect who fled from officers during an attempted arrest on the morning of Thursday, June 12, 2025.
Around 10:00 AM, detectives moved to apprehend the individual, identified by the initials G.P., in connection with a serious criminal investigation.
G.P. is wanted for attempted manslaughter and severe ill-treatment that caused bodily harm.
Acting on intelligence, police tracked the suspect to Philipsburg. As officers moved in to arrest him, G.P. bolted from the scene on foot. Officers fired warning shots during the pursuit, hoping to dissuade the suspect from escaping further. Despite these efforts, he managed to evade capture.
The situation escalated when the suspect entered a vehicle and fled at high speed toward Fort Willem.

Authorities have not yet located either the vehicle or the suspect. In response, the police have launched an intensive search operation involving multiple units.
