Subject: Urgent Attention Needed on National Decrees

Philipsburg – NAPB-Sint Maarten calls on the Ministry of Justice to address urgent concerns regarding National Decrees. The union, led by President Marcus Pantophlet, has observed significant delays in the decree distribution process, sparking frustration among members. Many members have not received their decrees, while others have, creating an imbalance that affects workplace morale.Pantophlet and his board met with the Minister of Justice, Mr. Lyndon C.J. Lewis, on October 23, 2024, to discuss the delay. Minister Lewis cited “sabotage” as a cause of the delay, raising further concerns among the union.“This issue demands immediate action,” said Pantophlet. “Our members are losing motivation, and such division on the work floor is something Sint Maarten cannot afford. I am committed to representing all members, ensuring every concern and grievance is addressed.”To resolve these issues, Pantophlet and his board will visit departments within the Ministry of Justice. They aim to speak directly with NAPB-Sint Maarten members and establish a productive dialogue with department heads to seek solutions.Marcus PantophletPresident, NAPB-Sint Maarten
