Road Closure Notice: Bitumen Spraying and Final Asphalt Work on Longwall Road
The Ministry of VROMI (Public Housing, Spatial Planning, Environment & Infrastructure) announces the final stage of the Longwall Road asphalt resurfacing in Philipsburg. Crews from Windward Road Infrastructure will spray bitumen and apply a new asphalt surface.
Starting on Thursday, October 31, at 5 PM, bitumen spraying will begin on Longwall Road. This process requires setting time before the final asphalt layer is added. To facilitate this, both Longwall Road and F. Hughes Road will close to residents and all through traffic starting at 5 PM on October 31. The roads are expected to reopen on Friday evening once the final asphalt layer has been applied.
Road Closure and Work Schedule:
Bitumen Spraying: Begins on Longwall Road on October 31 at 5 PM
Closure of F. Hughes Road: Closed during the same period due to restricted access
Asphalt Layering: Scheduled for Friday evening, following the bitumen setting
We urge all residents and drivers to observe the closure, as driving on the surface could damage vehicles and compromise the new road’s quality, leading to future repairs. Please use alternate routes during this period to ensure crew safety and project success. While we recognize the inconvenience, your cooperation and patience are greatly appreciated.
