Armed Robberies in Dutch Quarter – Police Seek Public Assistance

The Police Force of Sint Maarten (KPSM) is currently conducting investigations into a series of armed robberies that have occurred in recent days. The most recent incident took place at the McDonald’s restaurant in Dutch Quarter on Sunday, September 22, 2024, shortly after 11:00 PM.
At approximately 11:00 PM on the night of Sunday, September 22, 2024, three masked individuals, armed with a firearm, accosted employees of McDonald’s in Dutch Quarter as they exited the building
The suspects were described as three masked individuals, one of whom was armed with a firearm.
During this robbery one of the suspects fired a shot, which resulted in damage to the front door of the establishment. This action enabled the suspects to gain unauthorized entry to the premises.
Upon entering the restaurant, the suspects proceeded to steal an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspects were later seen fleeing the scene in the direction of the French side of the island.
KPSM is currently prioritizing this investigation and other armed robberies and has increased police patrols to circumvent these robbery incidents. The community is urged to exercise vigilance and report any suspicious individuals or activities to the police.
The Police Force of Sint Maarten (KPSM) is requesting assistance from the public. Anyone with information concerning this incident, or who may have observed suspicious activity in the Dutch Quarter area at the time, is encouraged to contact the police immediately
