Arrests Made in Cupe-Coy for Drug Possession and Attempted Motorcycle Theft St Maarten

In the early morning hours of June 10, 2025, shortly after 2:00 AM, the Central Police Dispatch received a report from hotel security in the Cupe-Coy area. Security personnel had observed two individuals acting suspiciously near the hotel premises and suspected them of attempting a robbery. As a result, police patrol units were immediately dispatched to the scene.Officers responded swiftly, with one patrol team blocking access to the Cupe-Coy border while another secured the main road leading to Mullet Bay. In addition to the initial response, several other officers joined the operation, enhancing the chances of intercepting the suspects quickly.As the search progressed, police received further details indicating that the suspects were operating a red Hyundai i10. Witnesses had seen the vehicle near the casino parking lot in Cupe-Coy. When police arrived at the location, they discovered a motorcycle lying on the ground under suspicious circumstances.Shortly afterward, officers encountered two young males in the vicinity. They identified the individuals by the initials A.A. and J.C., both residents of the French side of the island. After a brief inquiry, police determined that the suspects had been attempting to steal the motorcycle. Officers placed both individuals under arrest and transported them to the Philipsburg Police Station for further questioning and processing.Following the arrest, police conducted a search of the red Hyundai i10. During the search, officers discovered a substantial quantity of illegal substances inside the vehicle.
