KPSM Conducts Island Wide Nighttime Controls: Fines Issued and Scooters Confiscated

KPSM launched a major nighttime operation across Sint Maarten.
The initiative began late Thursday, June 19, and continued into the early morning of Friday, June 20, 2025.
The goal? Strengthen public safety and enforce island laws.The Police Control Team moved through several districts.
These included Simpson Bay, Cole Bay, Sucker Garden, Dutch Quarter, South Reward, and Ebenezer.
Officers were focused on violations related to firearms, drugs, and traffic rules.Officers issued several fines for traffic offenses.
These included expired documents, reckless driving, and equipment violations.
The goal was clear: reduce unsafe behavior on the roads.
A key incident happened around 2:00 AM in Ebenezer. Central Dispatch reported two scooters riding near the PSVE school.
When the Control Team arrived, the riders abandoned the scooters and fled on foot. They vanished into the dark.
Upon inspection, officers found a ski mask and a small amount of narcotics in one of the scooters.
Both vehicles were confiscated and taken to the Philipsburg Police Station. Investigations are ongoing.KPSM remains firm in its mission to ensure community safety.
