Police Seek Public Help to Identify Simpson Bay Resort Robbery Suspects
PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten (August 6, 2025) – Authorities are asking for the community’s help following a brazen armed robbery at Simpson Bay Resort that left a business owner injured and a jewelry store ransacked.
Violent Heist in Broad Daylight
The robbery took place on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, around 5:15 PM. According to police, three masked individuals dressed in dark blue clothing stormed into the resort’s lobby and targeted Splash Jewelry.
They reportedly arrived in a vehicle that drove directly onto the premises. Once inside, one of the suspects struck the store owner on the head with a hammer, leaving the victim injured. The trio then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of stolen jewelry.
Surveillance Images Released
The Prosecutor’s Office (OM SXM) and the Sint Maarten Police Force (KPSM) have released surveillance screenshots in hopes the public can help identify the culprits. Investigators believe there are still witnesses who haven’t come forward, including individuals who may have seen a suspicious vehicle entering or exiting the area shortly before or after the robbery.
