They will help their colleagues from the Point Blanche prison. On Wednesday, May 14, there was a major fire in that institution, which caused considerable damage to the building. The Minister of Justice of Sint Maarten then sent a request for support to other detention institutions within the Kingdom of the Netherlands, including Curacao, for humanitarian and logistical assistance in dealing with the emergency. SDKK staff will work closely with their counterparts at the prison in Sint Maarten to stabilize the situation there.
