KPSM Strengthens Community Safety With Ongoing Operations

The Police Force of Sint Maarten (KPSM) continues targeted safety efforts to combat crime and maintain public order. Officers have increased their presence in key districts, conducting proactive controls focused on firearms and narcotics violations.

Focused Patrols in High-Risk Areas

Recently, officers conducted operations in Middle Region, Dutch Quarter, and Nazareth. These controls targeted loitering and suspicious behavior near supermarkets and public gathering spots. Police approached individuals, checked for legal compliance, and directed unauthorized persons to leave when necessary.

Arrest Linked to Major Crimes

During one of these operations, officers arrested a suspect with an active warrant. The individual faces charges related to attempted manslaughter and other serious offenses. Police immediately transferred the suspect to the Philipsburg Police Station for further investigation.

Continued Enforcement Ahead

These actions are part of a broader plan to tackle criminal activity directly. KPSM stresses that similar controls will continue in the coming weeks. The goal remains clear: enhance community safety through vigilance and direct engagement.

As the 2024/2025 school year ends, KPSM urges parents and guardians to keep minors active. Encouraging structured, positive activities helps prevent loitering and disruptive behavior during the summer break. Early intervention makes a difference.
